Many garages see that the diesel particulate filter (DPF) is blocked and will try to clean, only for the issue to return within a few miles. This is because the particulate filter has become blocked due to an underlying fault which has not been rectified before the cleaning process has been carried out. Faults with temperature sensors, boost leaks and driving style all have an impact on the particulate filter system, all of which can cause it to become blocked and cause hundred, if not thousands of pounds if they need to be replaced.

How can we help?

We are Surrey Tuning will carry out a diagnostic on the vehicle to determine the underlying cause of the particulate filter to become blocked, this could be from fault code reading, smoke testing or live data checking. Once we are happy with our prognosis we will endeavor to fix the underlying fault and carry out a diesel particulate filter clean (DPF Clean) and a manufacturers regeneration process in order to burn off the soot content within the particulate filter system.

What tools do we use?

We use a various amount of diagnosis tools in order to trace the underlying problem, however we do tend to use both a Hydrogen cleaning machine and 2 part chemical clean in order to clean the dpf, all of which are 99% successful, saving you hundreds if not thousands of pounds in having the dpf replaced.
